International Women of Courage: Malebogo Molefhe
In 2017, former Botswana national basketball player, Malebogo Molefhe was awarded the international women of courage award. She came to the Department of State to speak about gender equality and advocate against gender based violence. She is a public speaker and activist. Here she tells her story.

Jestina Mukoko is a Zimbabwean human rights activist and the director of the Zimbabwe Peace Project. In March 2010 Jestina Mukoko was one of ten human rights defenders honored in the U.S. State Department’s International Women of Courage Awards, she returned as an alumni in 2016.

Roshika Deo, International Women of Courage 2014
Roshika Deo, of Fiji, is a 2014 U.S. Department of State International Women of Courage awardee. Roshika and her “Be the Change” political campaign are inspiring a new generation of Fijian women and youth to believe in democracy and the power of civic participation. Follow her journey to the U.S. as part of International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), including the award ceremony with First Lady Michelle Obama.

American Women for International Understanding celebrate 45 years of service. Dedicated to meeting and Understanding Women Around the World. Fifty three delegations with 86 country visits through January 2014. The last country visited was Burma.
