On June 6, AWIU was honored to participate in Deloitte’s annual Impact Day, a nationwide initiative where thousands of Deloitte employees volunteer their time and expertise to support meaningful community projects across the country. With more than 1,200 in-person and virtual projects happening in over 100 U.S. cities, AWIU was proud to be selected as one of this year’s partners.
As part of their Impact Day contribution, a dedicated team from Deloitte collaborated with AWIU’s Board and Membership Committee to examine the organization’s approach to member recruitment and retention. Working in close partnership with Miranda Cohen of Change Wave Consulting, the team conducted a strategic benchmarking exercise, comparing AWIU to similar organizations and offering tailored recommendations to inform its future direction. The team’s work was grounded in data, including input from a recent member survey which many AWIU members generously completed.
The day was a catalyst for reflection and renewal at AWIU. Conversations sparked by Deloitte’s findings have continued since the event, energizing us all with new ideas and momentum. “It exceeded my expectations,” one member shared. Another noted, “I am so looking forward to seeing how we incorporate Deloitte’s work into what will be a defining strategy for the organization.”
More than just a one-day effort, Deloitte’s engagement represented a meaningful investment in AWIU’s future. The professionalism, insight and care brought by the Deloitte team made a lasting impact, and for that, AWIU is deeply grateful!
