Katelyn Choe is a retired U.S. diplomat with over 25 years of experience in strategic communications, international affairs, crisis management, and cross-sector partnerships. She has led international public engagement campaigns tied to major global events, including the Olympic Games and FIFA World Cup, elevating the visibility of U.S. companies while advancing American economic and diplomatic interests. She also launched high-profile initiatives that attracted international investment and directed strategic communications during complex geopolitical, public health, and security crises requiring rapid coordination across multiple countries and stakeholders.
Katelyn brings a deep understanding of how storytelling, cultural insight, and strategic communications shape public perception, build institutional trust, and inspire action. Her diplomatic assignments have included The Netherlands, Afghanistan, Nepal, New Zealand, and South Korea, where she served in roles spanning public diplomacy, management, policy, and operations.
Most recently, as the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomat in Residence at UCLA, Katelyn advised students and professionals on careers, internships, and fellowships in diplomacy. She also built partnerships with universities, civic organizations, and community leaders to broaden awareness of international careers and cultivate the next generation of public service leaders.
