Susan Markham is a strategic advisor, advocate and political organizer that has worked to increase women’s political leadership in the U.S. and around the world for over two decades. As a consultant, she helped corporate and non-profit leaders understand that gender equality is good for their “business” whatever that may be.Previously at USAID, Susan advised Agency leadership on gender policy issues and led cross-sectoral program efforts in sectors as diverse as democracy and adolescent girls education. She directed the Women’s Political Participation program at NDI and worked in domestic politics at EMILY’s List, the DSCC and several statewide campaigns. Susan is the co-author of the book, “Feminist Foreign Policy in Theory and in Practice: An Introduction”.
