Cynthy was born in Rochester, MN, raised in Honolulu, HI and has lived in Los Angeles since 1986. She received her MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management and BA in business administration from Colorado College. Her background in marketing and communications includes brand management at Nestlé USA, where she managed a diverse range of brands within their infant formula, juice and pet care businesses. Prior to Nestlé, Cynthy worked in account management in public relations and advertising agencies.
Cynthy and her husband Jim split their time between South Pasadena and Honolulu. They have three children, one grandchild and a very sweet Labrador. In addition to AWIU, Cynthy is currently a member of Pasadena Guild of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Cancer Support Community Pasadena . She has previously held numerous leadership positions supporting her children’s schools and community philanthropies.
Cynthy attended her first IWOC Celebration in 2013 and has been actively involved on the planning committee since that time. She chaired the Celebration three times and has also served as emcee. She has worked in an overall advisor capacity since 2016 while also focusing on communications and nurturing partner relationships with Deloitte and UCLA. She has been an AWIU Board member since 2022.
Cynthy’s other interests include dance, travel, and skiing.
