Gayle graduated from George Washington University with a Master’s Degree in Public Policy, Government and Business Administration. She had a long career in Federal Service and held executive positions as Director of Legislation and Research, Assistant to the Commissioner for Legislative Affairs, IRS District Director for Kentucky and Tennessee, and Area Director for 14 States and International. Post IRS, she was an International Tax Advisor working with Treasury and IMF.
Gayle has always been an active volunteer with interest in both domestic and international charities. As a member of AWIU she has been a member of the Board of Directors, the co-chair of the Delegations Committee, and has been a Delegation Leader or Co-Leader of nine AWIU delegations: Argentina, Russia, Libya, the Balkans, Burma, Ethiopia, Nicaragua, Morocco, Guatemala, and now, Southern India and Delhi.
Gayle also plays tennis, sings in her church choir, and chairs the Outreach ministries focusing on Homeless Families, Education Equity for Underserved Children, and mission trips to Mexico and Malawi. One of her favorites has been working for 15 years with refugees from Burma to help them settle and succeed as they transition from refugee camps to their new homes in Nashville.
