Joanna LaHaie

Joanna LaHaie is the Director of the International Engagement & Capacity Building Office in the International Cyberspace Security Policy Unit of the U.S. State Department’s Cyberspace and Digital Policy Bureau (CDP). In her role, Ms. LaHaie oversees relationships with key bilateral, multilateral and international entities in support of U.S. foreign policy objectives on issues in cyberspace; and addresses capacity-building needs that support partners ability to deter, prevent, detect, and respond to cyberspace threats. During her tenure at the Department, Ms. LaHaie served as a Special Assistant on Cyber Issues to the Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security. Prior to joining the U.S. Department of State, Ms. LaHaie worked on international rule of law capacity building for the U.S. Department of Justice and served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in the education sector in The Gambia. Ms. LaHaie teaches English to the District of Columbia adult immigrant community and serves on the Board of Trustees for GambiaRising. Ms. LaHaie is a graduate from Loyola University Maryland where she studied Political Science and Mathematics.
