Marsha Niazmand was born in Oklahoma but spent most of her childhood in Pittsburgh, Pa. She attended Penn State as a history major and received an MS in social work from the University of Chicago. She was employed by the Chicago Board of Ed until 2008. She has lived in Chicago since 1967 and been married to Mike Niazmand, a property developer, since 1984. She has been on the Grant Committee since 2010.
