
Julie Rottier
Advisor on the Middle East, Office of Global Women’s Issues, Department of State
In the past 40 years, Julie Rottier has worked for six State Department bureaus – DS (Diplomatic Security), S/S-0 (Executive Secretariat Operations Center /Secretary of State George Schultz), INR (Intelligence and Research), A (Administration), and currently resides in the OES (Oceans, Environment, and Science) Bureau’s Office for Space Affairs (SA). Previously, Rottier spent seven years in OES/Science and Technology (S&T) Coordination (STC). She is now serving a detail in S/GWI’s Women, Peace and Security and Women’s Economic Empowerment for the NEA regional team, working on Gender-Based Violence (GVB), to include Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), Conflict-Related Sexual Violence (CRSV), and other women’s issues such as detention, imprisonment and trafficking of women and girls.
